Axle Pin

Axle Pin
What are my options with my bike?

I have January 1 YZF 600 street bike. After just tuning my bike and putting on new tires. The nut holding the sprocket came off and the nut holding the shaft was stripped. He said a Yamaha dealer. It would cost me $ 300 for parts and labor $ 1,400 force. The bike is only worth $ 3,000. I was thinking I could drill a hole in the shaft and install a pin to replace the nut. All opinions on this idea? Or any other ideas?

That "axis holding the lock" is a transmission shaft. The costs for replacement work are reasonable. A local driver might be able to gin up something to consider sprocket according to the shape of the parts and the damage done. Perhaps a new thread and nut differently. Treat to do it with a pin is just asking for trouble though.
