Bricks. Can one purchase just a handful rather than a job lot?
I’m going to need about a dozen ordinary house-bricks for a job in the house, but am not sure whether how they are sold. Is it possible to buy bricks individually (or in small amounts) or do you have to buy them by the gross or something. I don’t want to go on the thieve from a local building site for the few bricks I need, but if I can’t buy just a few rather than loads I might just have to. Anyone have an idea of price per brick. Pennies, surely?
There’s a few American answers here, so I’ll just add that yes I am in the UK. I just need some bricks (any bricks as long as they are all the same) to support the shower unit base that we are putting in the bathroom. We’ve been under the impression that places like B&Q, Wickes, Homebase etc, sell by the hundred or whatever and not smaller sales. Its good to see most people disagreeing and saying you can buy as many or as few as you want. There are several good answers here.
Easy, just go down to a local INDEPENDENT/SOLE TRADER TYPE builders merchants who will be happy to sell you as many or as little as you like. Better to save time by looking in the thomson local phone directory and phoning before going.
Price depends very much on type of brick and there are handreds of varieties. Base price for the very basic brick should be between 40-80p.

In online poker, you will not have much use for tells but in real life poker, you will need to remain observant so you can effectively read the signs that your opponents unknowingly transmit.
Another difference is the actual amount you will need to spend on a poker game. It is always cheaper to play online because you need not give tips to dealers, porters, floor men, and many others. Nevertheless, it still is fun to play real life poker because you can get to interact not just with your opponents, but all the other people who might be around the poker table.
And of course, it really is different to play in brick and mortar game rooms because you can actually feel the felt table. It always makes a difference to actually pick up cards as they slide across the table and to let cards slide across the fold when you fold or refuse to show your cards.
