Plane Spotting London City Airport?

Hello,

Where is there a good place to plane spot for london city airport i really want to go and have a look at the planes taking off it is good as it is a small airport but very busy. I have seen lots of videos on verious websites youtube google vids etc but i can not seem to pin point where they are.

Vulcan Crew is right. Directly opposite the airport on the other side of the old dock you will find an un-used office block. Outside are benches that you can sit on and you can see the entire length of the airport. Don’t bother going on a Saturday or Sunday though. The airport shuts at 12:00 on Saturday and doesn’t re-open until 12:00 Sunday and is slow on both days. Monday mornings seem to be the busiest, possibly as it is the start of the business week. Happy spotting.

p.s. If you plan to be there for any great length of time, take some refreshments with you as there is bugger all in the way of shops to buy anything in.

Belfast City Airport is an ideal gateway to explore Northern Ireland; using a car hire service will help get the best from this unique region, both the city and the surrounding rural areas. The airport itself was recently renamed as George Best Belfast City Airport; due to the famous footballer being a home grown talent. The change however angered some as they felt a better representation of Belfast could have been found.
