What will happen if an city was invaded?

What is the first thing the government would do? Would police be used until the Coast Guard arrive? Would armories start handing out guns to civilians to protect their city? Would blockades be constructed to slow down the invasion until the military arrives?

As for civilians, where would they go?
Okay, people aren’t getting the question.

What if YOUR city was invaded? What kind of actions would occur? (And no, I’m not looking for any Rambo scenarios.)

Well I think it depends on the area the invasion happened. If you are talking the United States, is this a recognizable enemy? Are we at war? Is this a surprise attack and if so how much time did the city have before being sieged. I think a city would have no place trying to fight a military fight and the local government would be unable to resist a organized attacker in this day and age. As for the civilian population, you might find a lot of paramilitary fighters willing and able to die and create problems for the invading army. Look at Iraq, Saddam was unable to fight us, but his people are doing the job his republican guard could never do.
I think civilians would stay in their homes and stay out of the crossfire. I don’t think they would have a place to go- speaking in general. If it was me, I might try to resist, or thre more likely scenario I would bug out into the country side with a family friend and stage resistance operations and just attempt to survive.

From the City to the Hills with Belfast Car Hire

Belfast is the capital city of Northern Ireland and is located on the east coast of the country. Also part of the UK, the history and environment makes this city is a really wonderful place to visit.
