Really good team – I guess there are not many teams in the league. They are just things that Josh Johnson is out for a couple of months (you may want to drop and pick up another starter – Tim Hudson deal – I think he'll have a great return years) and Carl Crawford, Bobby Abreu, and Brandon Phillips will not be as valuable as your league does not seem to have stolen.

Argues should be part of your Fantasy Baseball League

You've heard me talk about this before: middle relievers are the red-headed step child when this is fantasy baseball. If Rodney Dangerfield were still around, I said "middle relievers just do not get no respect."

While stud middle relievers may help your WHIP, do not spend a lot of tickets and rarely earn a save since the age of specialization relief. Therefore, the decrease in the value of a great fantasy player like Joba Chamberlain when Joe Girardi announced that Chamberlain would begin the year as the Yankees set man and not as a starting pitcher.

The statistics hold was invented in 1986 by John Dewan and Mike O'Donnell as a way to measure the effectiveness of painkillers for the media. A hold is defined as "any time a relief pitcher enters a game in a save situation, records at least one, and leaves the game never having relinquished the lead. "In short, a deduction is equivalent to a saving in the lingo middle reliever.

Brandon Lyon to the Diamondbacks appeared in 73 games and pitched 74 innings last year. He was 6-4 with an ERA of 2.65, and made May 2 save chances. Not exactly the type of statistics you into the top of the lists of pitching in his fantasy league. But, he adds Lyon is 35 and you have yourself a good performance. Lyon was undoubtedly a decisive role in 2007, D-Backs success.

When the internet came along so did a large number of statistical categories that could be added to his league baseball fantasy, because the commissioner was no longer sitting at his kitchen table at 2 am compiling statistics fantasy team. While most leagues stuck with the base 4 x 4 or 5 x 5 leagues, some chose to add more than 40 categories dark. With the power of the Internet, it was difficult to devise a system that would give different levels of points to give credit to the boys who excelled in the sacrifice and support to flies or to punish those with large amounts of beams or triples allowed.

If your League decide to reward the important role that game half relievers by adding a category has (and we believe it should), you will probably need to compensate with another offensive category. Best to add: probably walks and on base percentage. I think everyone who has read Moneyball understand the importance of working on foot and get the base. Red Sox, Terry Francona has insurance, he is a believer and who can argue with Francona's recent success.?

And if your league decides to go crazy and add 40 categories, pick Troy Tulowitzki who led the major leagues in assists last year with 561. If you add sacrifice flies, Carlos Lee was impressive with 13 last year.

In terms of allowing or triple beams: if the commissioner fantasy league proposes the addition of these categories, we find another league fantasy baseball to play in.
