How is George "Of Mice and Men" as a Christ figure?

I'm trying to compare it with Lucas in the movie "Cool Hand Lucas "because both figures to be Christ-like. I mean what kind of" acquitted "Lenny of their sins at the end of the book, but I am unsure how prove or back to that. Any other ideas? Thank you.

George is the only person in the novel to see the immediate situations in terms of mercy. Lucas is more of a scapegoat. The other characters in both pieces represent ignorance and / or evil. But George Lucas and an equation do not, sorry. The circumstances are very different. George is like San Cristobal and San Esteban Lucas is like. (See em up)
