In chess, if I had to choose between losing a knight or the removal of a house – would you?

The tower is a more valuable piece, so I would rather lose the knight. There may be specific instances where the knight is more useful, but as a rule, maintain the tower. Remember that a King + Torre can only checkmate a king. You can not do that with a Cavalier King +.
