Both the Knights of Labor and American Federation of Labor was as support for the common man, and offered to help them get better hours, better pay and better conditions work. What has caused defects to failure?

A castle of the Knights is their home

Travel through D5 Murol via Col de la windy and you can admire the stunning landscape of the region of Puy de Dôme while enjoying the views of the Cordillera de Sancy. Above Murol you around a bend in the road and in front of you is powerful and dominant Palace of Murol before starting to descend on the city of Murol itself glimpse of the castle from different angles as the zig zag across the valley. It is hard to beat this monument medieval solid stone for dramatic impact. Perched above the city on an outcrop of basalt rock that is among the best surviving examples of architecture of the 13th century French fortress. Its location is perfect for its original purpose as exalted a fortress against the invasion of their home or abroad, testimony of the time it was built. Since 1889 the palace has been classified as a monument historique "by the French Ministry of Culture.

Today, a group called "Les Sancy Paladins run the castle and stage demonstrations excellent authentic medieval combat, weapons and riding in the palaces built purpose stadium, with capacity for more than 400 people.

Each week during the school holidays children can attend school for training men in the main room where Murol can make costumes, shields and swords (for waste materials, I must stress) and learn to behave like a medieval knight. Subsequently, the square of the church becomes Murol a parade of knights in shining training in their new suits. Suddenly in the distance you hear the sound of the hooves, which grows in intensity as the Baron and his men ride to the plaza. Mr. and dismounted with great ceremony every gentleman in practice are asked to kneel before him and a knighthood. Each new gentleman with a certificate to mark their passage into the ranks of the nobility. Quite an accomplishment for any young child!

Murol (833m/2733ft alt) is a small mountain village in the department of Puy de Dome in the Auvergne, one of the most beautiful Frances.

The Puy de Dôme is a land of extinction volcanoes, lakes and rivers, as long as one of the most striking scenery in Europe. Many of the castles of the area were built by the barons of the Middle Ages as Featured defensive strongholds high in the mountains, as Murol.

Located along the Couze Chambon, at the foot of the volcano wooded Tartaret, Murol is a nice place to stay and an excellent base from which to embark on a series of excursions by car or on foot along one of the many marked trails. A number of properties affordable rent and small hotels are available in and around the city.

Murol is also home to the art gallery "Musée L'Ecole des Peintures of Murols' (open from June 1 to October 31, 1910 am-12: 00p.m. and 2.30 – 18.30, admission € 3.50) officially classified as a "Museum of France." Located at the entrance of the 'Parc du Prélong "Impressionist exhibitions gallery paintings of various artists who visited the region to paint in the early 20th century, inspired by the magnificent scenery and in particular attractive winter landscape.

Close to the gallery is a small cottage houses a collection of local objects from the Gallic period Romains (opening times from 1 July to 15 September 3.00 – 18.00).

Bastille Day is one of the most important celebrations in France and Murol, with its history and traditions has one of the most authentic Puy de Dome celebrations of Bastille Day. Every July 14 to celebrate the storming of the Bastille in 1789, the people of Murol don costumes of the nobility, peasants and soldiers of the time. There is a street market, bands music and many other themed activities throughout the day. Even the food is given a revolutionary shift themed menus offered at most cafes and restaurants. The fate of Marie Antoinette is depicted later in the day Prelong du Parc, where he arrived after being paraded through the city and with the French farce typical, is tried and beheaded. All day complete with a ball in the palace and a fantastic fireworks display on their walls.

Events and visits to Murol are inevitably dominated by the castle. If you are a student of architecture and medieval traditions, a curious tourist or a parent of children who dream of becoming a gentleman of the 13th century a visit meet your expectations. But Murol also meets the needs of the visitor who wants to explore the region on foot or by car and everything we appreciate this beautiful region has to offer.
