Problems with my Intel graphics driver and the sims 2!?

Hello, I'm having problems with my Intel 965 Express chipset family. When I try to graphics driver update from Windows Update, the sims 2 works, but when I try to play the tutorials to stop responding and I have to close it with the administrator Task! And when my brother tried to play it, it was changing the graphics options, resolution and texture detail and all that. Then click Apply and load was and was not the answer! AGAIN! But the good thing about this driver update Windows Update is that we have LEGO Star Wars 2 and it was better than it was before! There new graphics options such as bloom filter and reflections of plastic and stuff! But …………. The Sims 2 is not working well. Therefore, to get the driver from our factory and start to work better! But now, Lego Star wars 2 is not as fresh as it was not as fast. So is there any solution to this problem. I have a Windows Vista Home Basic.

I do not know how much help but I had many problems with Windows Update and graphics drivers. It seems best not to lose graphics windows / driver updates the chipset through Windows Update, but to update manually from the site (Nvidia mycase).
