Lego games – how to glue together?
I'm looking to beat my old Lego Sets permanently. (To make a big screen where children can manage castles, etc, and stay together.) What is the best glue for use in vintage Lego Bricks?
Recently asked to a similar question of technology http://www.toysperiod.com/ toy and he shared the following: – To bring together LEGO bricks, you have several options order of stay: 1) Clear ABS tail of a plumbing supply store or Lowes / Home Depot: Example: http://www.oatey.com/Plumber/Shared/ProductGroupDetail/168/ABS+Special+Milky+Clear + Cement +. html This glue also comes in black, but that kind can only be used with Black Lego elements. This adhesive is permanent, and will look great if used in moderation. The drawback is the strong odor during use of the tail. When set to full (24 hours), is almost odorless, however. The ideal method of application is "butter" the two elements joined very lightly with a disposable brush artist. This will ensure maximum adhesion and allow for a reduced working time in which the position and completely assemble the pieces. Do not use the applicator of the CAP – is too large for the uses of LEGO. 2) cyanoacrylate (CA), also known as "Super Glue, Krazy Glue" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cyanoacrylate etc. We do not recommend this glue, as the fingers stick together more often than object you are stuck. When joined, the skin should be divided to separate unless strong solvents are available, most painful test. Moreover, almost no working time in which you can adjust the pieces. With LEGO, which may mean the issue will become adhered before the bricks are fully seated together. 3) Glue stick weapon in a climate of low temperature. This method allows the removal of parts that need it. The drops of hot glue to fill the voids within the LEGO bricks, joining the tubes from the center to the upper rungs of the tile below. 4) Super Glue Aleene sticky. This is essentially a formula extra strong white glue, and stick when Elmer simply will not. It is available in the craft section of Wal-Mart and most grocery stores that carry crafts yards. This glue is not toxic, both during use and when dry. It dries clear and smooth. Alternatives to the four previous methods ABS specialties include various adhesives with solvent such as those found in the tents of plastic. Tap Plastics is good if in California or Washington, or on the web: One last suggestion would www.tapplastics.com LEGO using old parts that are perhaps tired, melt them down and use the ABS to fill the joint fluid. This is harder than the methods paste, but will lead to a smooth appearance, no LEGO if done correctly. color matching is usually desired, for a few lots may be required to complete the project. – Good luck with your project! -Jim
