Lego Mindstorm Robot is a good way to learn programming?

I just turned 14 in December and robots have been receiving in the past year and a half and was thinking how wonderful it would schedule a robot. My mother taught me the Mindstorm and asked me if I wanted for Christmas. I was also interested in the latest robot Wall-e and I have ot choose between the two. I am interested in computers and programming as well, and wanted to know whether it was a good Mindstorm way to start working on the schedule before going to college. Thank you.

The Lego Mindstorm is fine, and would be useful. I have even used at MIT. I do not know anything about Wall-E. For the team, I went out and BlueJ the accompanying textbook. This teaches you to program in Java, and is what my course used secondary AP. (BlueJ is free, the textbook is not.)
