Trying to find type of Lego Blocks that are connected on all sides …?

Does anyone know where I can find Lego-type blocks actually connects all the parts? They look just like Legos, but they have the knobs (lack of a better word) everywhere. They are brightly colored, plastic, and are the same size as the "regular" Legos no duplex size. We played with them in a hospital waiting room, but there was no information on the package. Were much easier to create people and airplanes, because outside of some of the pieces were round. Thanks for helping me find them for Christmas. I feel like I've searched everywhere!
