Self propelled vehicle ?

For a science project i need to make a self propelled vehicle and i cant use the force of gravity. I can use balloons and mouse traps and stuff like that so please help and nothing to hard i have to have it done by Wednesday so please help thanks. Also i have to make a slot for a Toy Figure like a Lego Man to sit in so it is similar to a newton scooter

Water based crast are the easiest to propel
Why not try a polystyrene carton say from macdonalds carve it with a craft knife to resemble a boat glue in lego man and then fit a win up rubberband arrangement with a propellor like a rubberband aeroplane
This would look like a miniature airboat on the everglades
