I’ve gotten a lot of mixed messages, but is Petco a good place to take my maltese to for grooming?

She’s badly matted and has it to the skin. I’m willing to pay any price for it, but I just want to know if they can actually do it or do they just put employees that only have a weeks training to work.

I would never take my dogs to them again. I took my 2 Shih Tzu’s there and they came back traumatized! Ask how they dry your dog. I’ll bet they put her in a drying cage….which is very bad for small dogs….

I was not very smart when I first started to have my two pups groomed…after that first experience though, I decided to do a bit more research (my bad, I know I should have done that BEFORE taking them to be groomed) and now only have a groomer that drys them by hand and doesn’t use a cage of any sort and is so sweet and wonderful with them.

He acutally comes to my home and has a grooming van (The Pet Spa!). Please do more research on this before taking her to be groomed. Also…just an FYI..those mats, they are very PAINFUL to your dog… If you have ever had a scab…and know what it feels like to have a scab lifting up and pulling away from your skin..well, that’s what she is feeling.

Try keeping her ina “puppy cut” from now on and brush her daily. She will be so happy!!

Get more out of your dessert mix
