What’s your verdict on the Jeep Wrangler 2007?

Sahara or Rubicon? DO YOU LIKE YOUR PURCHASE?? HAS CUSTOMER SERVICE BEEN SATISFACTORY??I want to buy one next month but haven’t decided on which one. Not really an off-roader guy and the only real design difference I see between the two models is that Rubicon has about two inches more ground clearance than Sahara. Are the tires much different too? The Sahara is $3,395.00 cheaper than Rubicon too. I am thinking of just buying, then, the Sahara and using the extra saved money to buy options like maybe automatic trans and a good security system. And floor mats lol. Make sense?

As others have said, the Rubicon includes a lot of offroad-specific hardware. The complete list includes

• Stronger transfer case (the 4WD gearbox)

If that list doesn’t send a thrill down your spine, don’t waste your $$ on a Rubicon. All that stuff is priceless to 4-wheelers trying to get up rocks or through mud or across a stream. It’s pretty much meaningless on the highway. If you’re not going offroad, a Sahara or loaded X will make you very happy. If you decide to try offroad driving, you can certainly do a lot in a Sahara or an X.

Manual vs. auto: get what *YOU* like. Both are mechanically good offerings. If your preference is an auto, don’t get a stick shift. You’re the one who has to drive the thing every day, and an automatic Wrangler is every bit as good as a manual one, especially if it makes you happier to drive it.
