Pound Lego

I put aside what should’ve been on the table
being away from you as long as I was able
never imaged things will turn out that way
I was warned but my ass liked to hear itself bray
everything went smoothly you was my alter ego
til’ our friendship crumbled as a house of lego
no shadow of hassle so I didn’t even think
this stunning rose has that little prick
wanted to believe it aint you just an incubus
maybe it was sent by god to separate us
but all those things were gray thoughts blurred
didn’t know which path I walked on anything’s unsure
needed for something clear to make my mind pure
’cause an ounce of prevention’s worth a pound of cure
but it was out of my reach so I went as blind
while someone was pullin’ the stings of my mind
knew I should’ve limited myself and draw the line
