Who determines the fine for red light violation using a picture camera?

I had a the privilege of getting my next years Christmas card photo taken while rolling my car across grand avenue with my son. The light portrayed an essence of red and yellow in color, and was aleged in was a true red color.

To my surprise, it turned out to be a dandy shot, but was wondering who to write to reduce the future penalties. My ticket was a whopping $ 580 !!!!!! I would like to send a letter stating I will no longer be traveling through their town no more.

The town decides these fines… and sending a letter won’t do anything for you… $580 is pretty steep though… in TX most photo enforced traffic light tickets are like $75 – $100. But the good news is it’s a penalty against the car, not the driver, so this won’t go on your driving record… it’s just a way for the town (and the state) to generate revinue.
