I have 1955 buick skylark with some break problems.?

Well one day I was driving along in my town and it happened to be
Be thankful for your mothers day and I was cruising through this parade and to make a long story short , This old lady in a
wheelchair skerted out into the middle of the road and i was going about 25 and she was like 20 feet away. all of a sudden I slamed
on my brakes and they dident stop rite away they just made a
bunch of metal clanking noise and i barged into this old lady sending her sailing into the crowd of ppl with her wheel chair bouncing rite behind her. I figured this all happened because i pumped my brakes to hard with such an old car and the mechanisms just failed. What do you think would be the cause of somthing like this?

You need to re-line (re-shoe) your brakes, and/or get them checked out for fluid leaks.

Leaking fluid will show up during a good visual inspection.

Checking for the need of a relining requires that you remove the wheels, then the Brake drums (The dust is sorta toxic) so you can visually inspect the linings wear. Check the drums for wear (Remaining thickness) and/or ‘hot spots’ (Bluing) too.

Thames Sailing Barges

The majority of Thames Sailing Barges are moored on the East Coast – at Maldon and Faversham, some in St Catherine’s Dock and, at the moment, there is just one on the South Coast. The Solent is one of the best sailing areas in England (possibly in the World!) and so why not get the family sailing on the solent, amazingly there’s a Thames Sailing Barge moored at Gun Wharf Quays Portsmouth waiting to give you a fantastic family sailing experience on the solent ? Join her by train, car or smaller boat one evening and dine on board, or in one of the many good restaurants ashore whilst anticipating a fantastic family sailing activity weekend sail in the Solent next day. After a full and satisfying English Breakfast, with the wind in your hair, you can enjoy family team building sailing whilst watching the smaller boats around as you make your way over to Cowes, or one of many other harbours, where you can enjoy a drink and some lunch aboard, or ashore whilst exploring the town. About the Author

South African born Keith has lived in the south of England for most of his life. After graduating from University with a degree in Business Information Systems Management he decided to start Strawberrysoup a website design company based in West Sussex and Dorset. Keith successfully gained entry into the Southampton University Air Squadron and spent over 12 months training to fly. Since then he has continued to follow his interest in flying and has now began his own training in the form of a Private Pilot’s Licence. Keith also spent 13 months working within the Image and Printing Group at Hewlett Packard in Bracknell. Throughout his time there, he was responsible for many activities including events organisation and website design and maintenance.
