Standard Basic
Standard Basic
Camera file type settings: fine jpg, standard jpg, or basic jpg?
What are the differences in the three types of jpg’s? I want the best quality pictures.
There is no difference between the format. This means each setting can be opened by the same programs. However each one is a different quality setting, and quality affects file size.
Fine is highest quality, and highest file size. Standard is a middle quality and middle file size. Basic is a small filesize at the expense of quality.
Picture quality is usually best at Fine JPG, and largest image size (example, 1024×768) With as little digital zoom as possible.
Some people don’t have the “space” to store many large images. They make a tradeoff of quality to be able to store them.
Like a previous answer, you can get more memory cards, however the best way to store images is on your computer and if you can burn it to a DVD.
Also, two good file/image storing sites are
http://www.flickr.com/ (owned by yahoo, might be bought by microsoft)
http://www.box.net/ (file storage site)
