Town City Suit
It is a city worthy of Seattle from the changes?
First some facts about me: I'm a college education, single, straight, age, 24 year old male who enjoys running, reading, writing, outdoorsey, etc. I grew up in a small town in Nebraska, went to school in Missouri and lived in Los Angeles (and worked in the entertainment industry) for the past year and a half, but now I'm ready for the heck out of town and find a job it's a little more satisfying. A friend (he is of the same age and background) and I've been talking about moving to Seattle in June and was curious what the opinions Yahoo on the verge of the city. Again, remember that I'm looking for a very different city from Los Angeles and that suits my interests, needs and a little background more. A large city with a small town atmosphere. Good idea to head north to Seattle, or is there a better place? Thank you.
It sounds as if Seattle can be a good fit for you. First, you have lived in the Midwest, which means that you will appreciate the mild climate here. Most people moved here from Southern California or complain about the rain in the winter. Also, if you like outdoor activities and running, Seattle is a great place to be. There are lots of roads, parks, and outdoor activities in Seattle and surrounding areas. As for the small town atmosphere, Seattle has more than any other area I've been metropolitan. The neighborhoods are unique and make you feel like you're in a smaller community, but larger city amenities are nearby. On the downside however, is also struggling with many of the same issues he does … LA traffic, high housing prices and homelessness. As for other places you might consider … Denver or Boulder, Colorado are also great for the kinds of outdoor activities and tend to have more sun than we do here in Seattle.
