IF I am a Marine and my MOS is aviation can i get deployed to Iraq or Afghanistan for combat?

I know everyone gets deployed in the marines and im not scared of combat i just want to know that if they send me to war if im still going to be doing my MOS or if im going to be like infantry and actually go on missions and kill because that is what i want. All your help is appreciated. Thanks

Last time i deploy we had a shortage of MP’s cause IED’s had taken their told on our unit.

most MP unit consisted in volunteers ,so most of the times early in the deployment they will ask for volunteer and that time it will be time for you to shine and raise your hand. Volunteer for Hmmv Gunner ..

i hope you don’t get cold feet i heard most of my newjoins talking so much crap ready to get some …until the day we landed on the C130 in Iraq and the next day the ask for volunteers and NO ONE raised their hand….

What To Do In Springfield MO

Springfield MO no not Bart Simpson’s Springfield but the real city you know the one at 37′N, 93′W (37.195098, -93.286213) in southern Missouri.

The place that seems to be the center of the USA every time I turn around I hear another famous person came from Springfield, like Kathleen Turner, the actress, Bob Barker, the TV game show host.

Even the real TV shows have them such as Aaron Buerge, from “The Bachelor” or Heidi Strobel from “The Survivor Series”

This come from a long history of famous folks all the back to Wild Bill Hickock, Frontiersman. Springfield even has a their finger in the shady side society. John Gotti, Vincent “Chin” Giganti both Mafioso who died in the local medical prison.

But despite the “colorful” history and famous individuals the average Joe is drawn here also.

Springfield Missouri has a fantastically diverse set of attraction that will keep anyone happy for a long time.

For the kids there is Fantastic Caverns is just north of Springfield. Which is a large set of caverns that you can tour via jeep. Also the Dickerson Park Zoo which has its own Asian elephant breeding program.

For the adults who happen to like sports the The Missouri Sports Hall of Fame is just east of Springfield. You can even watch the Springfield Cardinals an AA baseball team.

For the nature lover you have a choice of the Bass Pro Shops’ Outdoor World, the first and largest Bass Pro in the country or Wonders of Wildlife Museum & Aquarium which showcases more than 225 species of live animals.

How about the Music lover? “The Queen City of the Ozarks” has that covered with Juanita K. Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts located on the Missouri State University campus.

If it more like history for you then you days will be filled with more tours, reenactments and museum then you could possibly see. From the moment in 1829: when the Springfield site was designated by John Polk Campbell. and the first families, Fulbright brothers and their families settled in 1830.
The city of Springfield has had more history run through it, over it and around it then most states have.

It was fought over in the Civil War with the Wilson Creek Battle, was given up to the union forces in 1862 then fought over again in 1863 when Brig. Gen. Brown repelled a Confederate attack led by Brig. Gen. Marmaduke.

It has been known as the “The Birthplace of Route 66″ which runs right through the center of town which could explain the draw of the “Lindy Hoppers” swing (you know bobby socks and poodle skirts)group that performs at the Pythian Castle which was originally built in 1913 and has a huge history of its own.

So if you visit Springfield Missouri and can’t find nothing to do then just ask one of the native residents and ask “What is that building?” and you will be off on a new adventure.
