Civil War in Mexico rages on
By Michael Webster: Syndicated Investigative Reporter.
According to Mexico’s largest newspaper El Universal a Guerrero state senator was assassinated. State Senator Armando Chavarria Barrera, leader of the Congress of the state of Guerrero, was assassinated by gunmen in front of his home yesterday morning. The Senator was one of the most renowned and respected politicians in the left-wing PRD party and considered a natural candidate for governor in the 2011 elections. The two trigger-men and a driver who escaped in an SUV are believed hired assassins for the Mexican Drug Cartel La Familia. The motive for the assassination is believed political and norco related. Mexican Drug Cartels are getting more and more involved in not only statewide politics but also national. The cartels have been threatening to take out any opposition by whatever means necessary. The PRD immediately condemned it as political.
However in the aftermath of the assassination of Sen.: Barrera some party leaders disagreed on the motive behind the murder. The Chief of Government of the Federal District, Marcelo Ebrard, is certain the crime was political, while the Governor of Guerrero, Zeferino Torreblanca Gallindo, rejects speculation of political reasons. He said it is yet too early to begin asserting such motives
Mexican President Felipe Calderon extended his condolences to the family and promised full support of the Federal Justice Department (PRG) in the investigation.
Gunfights continue in the south, narco unrest continues in the southern states of Mexico. A battle between the police of Huimanguillo, Tabasco, and armed thugs broke out on the bridge that separates the states of Chiapas and Tabasco. Preliminary reports are that two police were killed. The present violence is believed related to the killing of a narcotrafficker by Los Zetas.
In the trenches of both sides of the narco war in Mexico the fighters who form the front lines in that war are not only Mexican military but also para-military of the Mexican Drug Cartels They have become the expendable contingents that have already cost the lives of over 4,000 in the country so far in 2009. The real face of the war that the military and the cartels are waging has one main characteristic: youths who average 20 years of age. The only thing that marks the difference between the soldiers and the cartel mercenaries is the uniforms they carry mainly the same weaponry. In a tour El Universal made with military forces through the battle areas of Michoacan, their first impression was not the arms and equipment of the warring parties, but the age of the soldiers who several months ago were minors and are now on the front lines. Federal operations have also revealed through arrests of the cartels’ warriors that they also average 20 years of age and youth on both sides are recruited from small villages in the interior.
More Mexican solders ambush in Juarez by well Armed paramilitary. The ambushed was a Mexican Army patrol in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua, just across the border from El Paso Texas. The attackers killed one Mexican Army Soldier and wounded two others. The para-military unit escaped. This is the second deadly attack against soldiers in the past two days. Direct confrontations between the Mexican solders and the Mexican Drug Cartel’s para-military personal is dramatically increasing throughout the country
In response to a major increase in death and violence in the Mexican President’s home state of Michoacán President Felipe Calderon sent more than 5,500 additional troops and federal police to protect, defend and support federal forces already there and other Mexican law enforcement personal who have taken a stand against the Mexican Drug Cartel known as La Familia.
Meanwhile more police executions in Michoacan even after military re-enforcements arrived. The bodies of two more police officers in the state of Michoacan have been found blindfolded and murdered by shots to the head near the town of Sahuayo. The two, 45 and 46 years olds, were abducted at the end of their shift by an armed para-military force. Next to the bodies was a “narco-message” that was not released by the authorities. The photo depicts the two dead officers.

Why everyone seems to hate the "new" Star Wars Trilogy?
I thought the new Star Wars Trilogy was much better that the first three movies. The graphics are far superior, storie line kicks butt, and more intresting characters. Why the hate? I mean, come on, the Millennium Falcon, X-wings and TIE fighters ….. a bit gay, The ships in the last three movies where a much more realistic.
Dude I really hope you do not go to a Star Wars convention somewhere one day and say that the Old Testament about a hardcore because you can die hard fan draw their nine and pop a cap in you … lol … Please know I say that in jest but that's the kind of reaction that some of us old should your statement … but the X-Wings as well … friend, they are some seriously nasty fighters … The Stealth X-Wings flying the Jedi books are far beyond "Unpleasant." As for the class warships Capital … I'm sorry, but a Super Star Destroyer could have taken the entire fleet Separtist itself and still things had gone to the Republic Fleet. Star Destroyer Mark II Star Destroyers, Super Star Destroyers were much more deadly than anything we have seen in the prequels. Hell, an Eclipse-class Star Destroyer could have probably taken the first Death Star itself. Of course, we never saw those in the movies … came later in the books, but an Eclipse-class Star Destroyer was 12 miles long and four miles wide and engines of destruction were pure. Anyway … I'm betting you're in your 20's or something and they were not present when the original came out. I have to say that his opinion is in the minority which remain valid too. The originals were something you had to experience to understand what those three films meant for the fans. All the hoop-la and people waiting in line for days to be the first to come and see me … ep All this pales next to what it was like to stand in these lines in 1977. I was only 8 years of age at the time and blew my mind as it did with most people who saw it … There was really no words to describe what the public was shocked over these films. It is also important to remember that time in this country then were very different than when the prequels came out. In many respects was similar to how it is things at this time. The economy was in deep trouble, Iran was the celebration of our embassy in Tehran hostage along with all the people who worked there. The cold war with Russia was at its highest level since the Russian invasion of Afganastan and that in turn causes a boycott of the Olympic Games in Moscow by U.S. and other countries. Every body was annoyed by the high price of gas, which at that time was about 70 cents per gallon … was one of the most difficult that this country had ever gone through to save the Great Depression and then, as now, many believed they were heading back into a slump. Then there was this movie called Star Wars. Not only were people impressed by the film itself with all the wild special effects, but also by the simple message that seemed to be the main theme of the movie … no matter what the odds or how much is was killed … good will win in the end … this film shows the mighty Galactic Empire get your nose bloodied by a rag-tag group of rebels with nothing but a strange few boats and a burning desire to rid the galaxy of the evil that was the Empire. Then the man who has been nicknamed "Ronnie Raygun" won the election and bring our hostages home … then there was the miracle in 1980 Olympic ice hockey team that shocked the world at Lake Placid, winning a gold medal. Wars and these events brought this country together as never before and we did what we always did … dug a little deeper, put on his boots and went to work taking this country through the hole was in. The booming economy and increasing our state in the eyes of the world in the mid 80s and 90s can be traced back to these events. I'm reading a little too much in the sense Star Wars was that in all this … maybe … but not by much. Here is a great example of how "crazy" we, the fans of yesteryear were … to this day I remember what happened in the theater when I saw The Empire Strikes Back for the first time Darth Vader heard pronounce five words that made the Star Wars galaxy to upside down … silence … you could have heard a pin drop 10 miles away. I also remember what happened then … There was silence for about 10 seconds and then heard someone yell, scream in fact, a liar … it was an instant transformation as the rest of us joined the Lucas says no Vader believe what he had said. Imagine in your mind … a room full of us Star Wars geeks yell at the screen … was probably beyond but it's fun to watch as the fans felt about the movies … had become a part of us. As for the prequels and all the hatred "that the time old fans are supposed to have for them … I think if you were able to actually have a poll among fans of old you will find that most would say they were well … not as good as the first three, but still very very good. People who yell "suck them" and all the negative things of others … so they are a test more just a simple fact that it has been since the dawn of time … Idiots are always those with the widest mouth. You know it's a little odd to find an answer to this question I am usually in the opposite direction … defending the prequels and the Old Testament. If I am right about your age then that is the main factor in the different ways of feeling about the two trilogies. That's another thing that jumps out when it comes to love or hate what the cinema … if ep I – III were the first films Star Wars ever saw you can see how it would be easy to label as a better measure would be more in the digital age of filmmaking, although at the time the originals were beyond the reach of any sci-fi thing we had ever seen. The perfect example of this would be a space Oddessy 2001. Any you seen that movie … if I'm going to bet your description of a word is the same as mine … boring. But at the time of the version that was considered a real break through in the form of films being made. There are some specific reasons why the old tend to not like the prequels so much and all stem from the fact that we have seen the originals when they came out and was an experience out of this world. One of the important things about the prequels is that when Lucas decided to make he set a task that is impossible … to make three more films as good or better than the originals … could not be done. The introduction of "midi-clorians" as a potential power level of a Jedi was a decent idea in the end it worked well, but have the biggest problem when older fans is the way in which the birth Anakin was made to reflect about the birth of Jesus … the whole thing without a father … for all the perception of "greatness" that seems to surround Lucas has proven to be very weak when it comes to common sense things, because that was a monumental error on their part. Another reason of age do not like the weather is all CGI and other things that are made to make the movies. It seems that he was so impressed by all the different ways that things could blow you forgot the most important thing that drives the series Star Wars … history. I have to say that his statement that the story line of the prequels was better than the original met with a massive "WTF" us old people. Not trying to be an idiot, but the story line of the original was much, much better than the prequels … much better, but again is mainly due the generation gap "between fans of the prequels and the OT. Another reason why the storyline of the original may have left the cold because the prequels "They say in" many "secrets" of the originals. The cliff "hooks" of the originals do not mean much to you because I knew the answer … back in the day and everything that held us spellbound for which we have learned in the original. In the end it comes down to a generation gap … one that much like the way all older people in the '50s hated that "devil music", known as rock and roll … It's a bit ironic that you think it. As a final thought on this just wanted to say that no matter if you like the prequels or the original or if you like both of them … the most important thing to remember is that these films are 6, without a doubt the most innovative film series in movie history. One I can not see every time I was exceeded. May The Force be with you … EDIT: After reading the comments of "Devon", ie: "Because the new take away all the old ideas of what had happened when Anakin was young, and All That Jazz "I never thought so, but he has a valid point. I can say that to me does not work … as big a Star Wars geek that my answer shows me that I can honestly say never had any idea "about the life of Anakin as a young man and how did … what I most wanted to see was" The Duelo "… Hayden and Ewan nailing to the fullest … I will say that after ep I … I had many ideas of how Anakin's life was not more than most of them prove to be wrong, so again, "Devon" is a very valid point. See, all us old people are very "stuck" in our roads … lol …
