Tourist Spots In Maldives

Vibrant shades of the sun and sea drape the wonder world called Maldives, located in Indian Ocean. First of all, there is a mosque called the Grand Friday Mosque that is a must visit for any visitor. The real name of the mosque is Masjid-al-Sultan Mohammed Thakurufaanu-al-A “z” zam and it is the biggest mosque on these islands. It speaks volumes about the grand architecture of the bygone times. The mosque is some 350 years old and was constructed in 1656 by the Sultan Ibrahim Iskandhar. Taking the tour of the National Museum of Maldives can give you a window to peep into the history of the islands. It is located in the Sultan Part that used to be a part of the Sultan’s palace.

Mulee Aage Palace is another of the famous tourist spots in Maldives. It was built in 1906 and is located just in front of the Grand Friday mosque. The Sultan Mohamed Shamsuddeen III takes the credit of the construction of this palace who built it for his son, before World War I. Another famous mosque here is Hukuru Miskiiy, which is the oldest one in the country. It was established in 1956.

You should also have a tour of the Esjehi Art Gallery, which is located on the east side of the Sultan Park. It is one of the most ancient buildings of the country. However, if you are at Maldives in summer then artificial beach is the place to be. You can have a lifetime experience by having a swim here in summers. You should also look for the Male Fish market, as it is one of the hottest tourist spots in Maldives. It is the hub of the commercial activities; a place that you will always find overcrowded.

Mohammed Thakurufaabu Tomb is another popular tourist spots in Maldives. It has a historic story behind it and that it holds a special significance for the citizens of the country. Lastly, you should not miss out on the beautiful beaches of Maldives. Most of the beaches are blessed with tropical and coconut fruits. Enjoy the white sand, water sports, relax or build sand-castles but do take out time to spend on these marvelous God’s own created beaches!
